PEP Technology has been a leader in bi-directional ERP integration using SQL, ODBC, and text files for 15 years. The PEP WIP software has been working with cloud based products such as LaserQuote and Plex for over 6 years.
Bringing the data into PEP to schedule creates opportunities for enormous savings in programming time and material yield. PEP tracks and reports back what has been cut, what is scheduled to be cut, and what needs to be scheduled. Fewer remnants, better reaction to "hot jobs" and accurate tracking of cut part quantities are the result. Manufacturers, job shops, steel service centers or any business that runs laser, plasma, gas or waterjet cutting, punching or combo machines can increase their profits and throughput with the automation capabilities of PEP.
PEP offers several methods of integration with your ERP system. The core of the functionality is found in PEP Data Mapping Configuration. The Data Mapper provides the ability to create a cross reference that identifies the fields in an input file and point each to a PEP data field.
Data mapping enables either manual or scheduled processing of a file from your ERP system and importing the data into PEP.
Data Mapping allows you to import Work Order, part, quantity required, date required, customer name, heat, and material thickness as well as other informational data elements. The data is then imported into PEP and can be used for nesting and scheduling.
Web Services provides an enhanced integration that enables bi-directional data transfer to ERP systems that have Web Service functionality.
The best example of optimal efficiency is a Web Service interface that was implemented for Plex, which is a cloud based SAAS ERP. The interface provides full functionality and integration. It's a fully automatic interface, giving the Nesting Programmers access to everything they need while also providing the ERP will all necessary data.
The automatic interface includes:
- Demand from Plex
- Part information from Plex including BOM and machine preferences.
- Plate and Part Inventory from Plex
- Jobs (nests) are created in PEP and sent to Plex
It starts with demand. The PEP Programmer initiates an update from within PEP, pulling down open orders from Plex. Both current and future orders are downloaded. Part information is also received from Plex.
Part quantities are calculated based on available part inventory and open customer orders. Parts for nesting are sorted in PEP by raw material, and selected for nesting. Plate inventory is evaluated for sheet size choices for nesting.
The nest(s) are created in PEP, and when finalized, they are sent to Plex as jobs ready to be scheduled.
Integration provides an improved work flow, optimal efficiency and reduces the opportunity for errors.
