“Kit” of two or more parts can be defined as a group that can be automatically nested together.
PEP will display a KIT in the format shown in the picture here.
- The KIT name appears on line 1.
- The drawings that make up the Kit are indented with brackets on lines 2, 3 and 4.
Entering a quantity of 10 on line 1 of the input screen above will create a nest of 10 kits. Nesting multiplies the Kit quantity times the part quantities nesting 40 parts as seen in this nest. To nest full plates of kits refer to Kit Nesting explained further on.
Kit Nesting of Full Plates is a nesting mode that creates full kits on each plate. To create the nest the user sets the material considerations to “KIT NESTING”, PEP does the rest. PEP created 27 KITS automatically in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. PEP saved $600k on this job.
